Game of Throne Recap: The Watchers on the Wall

I’ve read the books, but I don’t think anyone reads this bit anymore and I bet if it’s about the same amount of words no one will be able to notice the difference for this episode though, duh.

I felt they did a much better job with the entirety of the fight scenes in this episode than the previous duel between Oberyn and the Mountain. I may have even liked this episode more than the Blackwater episode. Despite what I write here, I really do love this show. On with the recap.

who dat snowSeriously, does anyone else notice this guy in the corner?

Game of Thrones Recap: The Mountain and the Viper

I’ve read the books, but I won’t spoil anything by bringing up anything new for show watchers, but I will make references to the book. There will be spoilers for this episode though, duh.

So you can tell we’re starting off in Mole’s Town because there’s a couple (well a whore and some dude) hooking up in a desolate muddy alley. Typical Mole’s Town and HBO. The guy in the bar really had a 50/50 if not a 100% shot of guessing that belched song. Rains of Castamere is played on repeat in this world, but they did sing the Bear and the Maiden Fair that one time. All I’m asking for is a few more songs, the jukebox might as well be on repeat.
Whore – “Too bad you have a hangnail for a cock.”
This town seems pretty fun.
Whore – “Like a baby snail peeking out of his shell.”

stanniThe episode starts with a close up of Stannis not smiling. Some things never change. Stannis and Davos sail under the Titan of Braavos, which is attached to a bigger statue of a human warrior… The Titan of Braavos is actually the statue’s penis…moving on. They also only seem to have one ship. Stannis and Davos meeting with the Iron Bank of Braavos in Braavos wasn’t in the books, so it’s okay to be confused. Stannis does eventually meet with Tycho Nestoris, but it’s much later in the series and Iron Bank is the one actively seeking out Stannis and not the other way around. This just seems out of character for the bank because in the show they essentially have no plan for Tywin not paying them. So if Stannis didn’t come was their plan to beg Dany to cross the Narrow Sea?

Just in case we forgot Joffrey was dead, well, he’s still dead.sansa walked right out, no porblem Sansa has like a 5 second, and by like I mean literally, head start before Cersei barks orders to reprimand Sansa, even Tywin declares that no one can leave the city right after, but she does exactly that. She just walks right out of wedding and out the city. Good thing the streets were empty in the most populated city in the Seven Kingdoms…was everyone at the wedding? Continue reading
